Bringin' Sexy Back

I had been sick this week, and rather bored. So, it is amazing the kinds of things that you notice when you are under the weather. I came to the realization that my pet bird, Cerveza, has rhythm, and really likes Justin Timberlake. Observe.

Painting

I have been dabbling in some painting again. For years I have been doing water color painting just for fun. Lately, I have been more interested in creating art that I can display in my apartment. Here is one example of a painting that I put in the bathroom to go with the bamboo theme. This was painted using acrylics on a canvas.

This other painting is also acrylics and on canvas, however it is obviously a work in progress. I will post the finished project when it is done. It is supposed to be a rose...hmmm...we will see!

Cerro Alto - Day Hike

Cerro Alto is the highest peak in SLO County with amazing views. Jesse and I took a day hike up there this morning. To the top and back was about 5.5 miles. We were lucky enough to see a helicopter land at the top (cheaters!) about twenty minutes before we got there. We ate a nice lunch at the top and booked it down. From the top we were able to see Morro Rock, Bishop's Peak, Madonna Mountain, and other beautiful sights. If you want to know more about this hike, check out the link below.

SF Zoo

Yesterday Jesse and I went to the SF Zoo. We got there around noon and couldn't ask for better weather. It was clear and warm! We were able to catch the "big cat feeding" which was held in this giant room full of cages. They brought in the lions and tigers in their own cage and fed them meat that was hidden in the cage. It was really cool to watch them work for it! We were also able to see the penguins eat, and watch the Seagulls try to steal their food! However, the zoo keeper was very handy with his giant fire hose - took care of the Gull problem. There was also a new exhibit called Grizzly Gulch. That was especially cool because you could be about three feet from a bear! There was a room with giant windows looking into a small pond the bears can wade in. One of the bears came up to the glass! All in all it was a great trip, and will definitely go again when they finish the rest of the renovations.
